Every January and June, Florence becomes the place to be for menswear, with Pitti Uomo setting the tone. It’s one of the key events in the menswear calendar, bringing together designers, brands, buyers and press from around the world to get a feel for what’s next in men’s fashion.

It’s not a traditional runway show, Pitti Uomo is a trade fair. Brands showcase their upcoming collections, while buyers decide what will be landing in stores and online for the season ahead. But it’s about more than just business. From standout street style to installations, guest designers and side events, Pitti plays a big role in shaping future menswear trends.

This January, Pitti Uomo 109 took over the Fortezza da Basso in Florence from 13 - 16 January. The theme, Motion, reflected how menswear continues to evolve, becoming more fluid, versatile and designed to keep up with modern life.

  • HERE'S WHAT OUR BUYERS CAME BACK TALKING ABOUT:

    RELAXED TAILORING & EVERYDAY LUXURY

At Pitti 2026, tailoring felt easier and more wearable than ever. The focus wasn’t on sharp lines or strict formality, but on pieces designed to move with everyday life.

Blazers and jackets came through in softer shapes, styled to work just as well off-duty as they do at work. Suits were paired with knitwear and overshirts, breaking away from the traditional head-to-toe look and leaning into something more relaxed and versatile.

It’s a clear response to how men actually dress now. Customers want pieces that look put together without feeling formal, and that can adapt to different parts of the day. Tailoring is still a key part of menswear, it’s just been reworked to feel more comfortable, more flexible and far more relevant.

NEAUTRAL COLOUR PALETTES & ELEVATED BASICS

One thing that stood out at Pitti was the colour story. Across the stands and in the street style buyers were drawn to, the palette was calm, muted and effortlessly wearable.
Tans, soft beiges, greys, olive tones and deeper neutrals dominated, creating a strong base for investment pieces that can be worn again and again. These shades are easy to build outfits around and work particularly well when moving between seasons.
It’s a shift that feels very in tune with how customers shop now. Neutral palettes offer versatility without feeling dull, striking the right balance between timeless and modern. Perfect for everything from quality tailoring to smart casual shirts, they’re designed to slot seamlessly into everyday wardrobes.

    FUNCTIONAL, ACTIVE, HYBRID MENSWEAR

At Pitti, Motion felt less like a theme and more like an overall mindset. Collections leaned into the crossover between fashion, performance and everyday wear, reflecting how men actually live day to day.

Sport-inspired pieces and streetwear influences sat comfortably alongside more traditional menswear, while brands showcased technical fabrics, functional outerwear and relaxed silhouettes designed to move. It was all about clothes that work harder, without sacrificing style.

That balance between function and fashion really stood out to buyers, and it’s set to play a big role in 2026 product planning.

At its heart, Pitti Uomo 109 sent a clear message: menswear in 2026 is about adaptability, relaxed confidence and elevated simplicity. Whether your next suit is tailored or casual, buyers saw styles that work in the real world and that’s what you can expect in our stores this season.
