Modern Slavery Statement for the Financial Year Ending 2025
This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and outlines the steps Slater Menswear has taken during the financial year ending 2025 to ensure that Modern Slavery and Human trafficking are not taking place in our operations or supply chains.
1. Our Business and Structure
Slaters is a mid-sized menswear retailer with head office based in Glasgow with 27 stores and Website operating across the UK. Our supply chain includes manufacturers and suppliers located in the UK, Europe, and Asia.
2. Our Commitment
We are committed to upholding human rights and take a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. We recognise our responsibility to ensure transparency within our supply chain and across our business practices.
3. Our Supply Chains
Our supply chain includes the sourcing of raw materials, manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, and retail. We work with a number of third-party suppliers and manufacturers, and we seek to partner only with those who share our values on ethical labour practices. Where possible we visit suppliers on annual basis and within that visit if there had observed cases of unprofessional or unethical practices then they will be identified and highlighted.
4. Policies and Governance
At Slater Menswear we have zero tolerance approach to Slavery and Human trafficking and expect that within our supply chain also. We continue to build hard working relationships with our suppliers where an ethical approach is expected by all. We promote multiple policies that encourage reporting and offer protection to whistle-blowers all included in our equal opportunities policy which is reviewed annually. This policy also confirms that we treat all workers, potential recruits and employees equally.
5. Training and Awareness
We provide training to our employees and key stakeholders to raise awareness of modern slavery and human trafficking. Staff involved in procurement and supply chain management receive targeted training on identifying and addressing risks through E-learning courses available internally to the business.
6. Measuring Effectiveness
To assess the effectiveness of our efforts to combat modern slavery, we:
· Monitor audit outcomes and supplier performance through visits to locations. Where possible we visit suppliers at least once a year and as mentioned above if any unethical practices are observed then they will be highlighted.
· Conduct annual reviews of policies and procedures
